So...

I'm a bad blogger. I sit at a computer all day, do my work, come home, watch tv, eat dinner, go to bed... I'm sooo exciting. Thus, not much really to report. However, the little stuff that has happened, I will relay in case anyone is still checking this and cares to know.

Job is getting better. Mainly I think it's my crazy pills, and the fact that I just don't care when they get all crazy and uptight here.

Eric has a new job! This is extremely exciting news. He's now a lab assistant for Beckton Dickinson. He works in a clean room with petri dishes and scientifical things. It's third shift, so I don't get to see him as much, even though we live together, but it pays really well and it makes him happy, so I'm a-ok with it!

Our evil female cat who pees on EVERYTHING is getting fixed in a couple weeks. THANkfully. I'm hoping this will stop the whole mess.

My sister should be having her baby any day now, she's already dialated and dropped, and given this is her third, it shouldn't be too much longer, so hopefully soon I'll have a post about my new baby niece or nephew.

Everything else is pretty much the same... Nothing terribly exciting going on. Today is an "I don't want to work" day. Not that anyone WANTS to work, unless you're one of those rare people who absolutely love what you do. Which, I have to say, I don't think anyone that reads this is one of those people, so yeah. I should probably do some actual work now... Though I have been doing my database entries between paragraphs. I'm such a goodie goodie. I can't even slack off properly.

Anyway, that's my update. Woo.

bah

So work has been not so much pleasant lately and I feel disconnected from the few social ties that I actually have in this town. I did get to have dinner and a lovely chat with Fox Thurs. night, which was good, I just wish it was more frequent. I've just always been surrounded by so many people at school, even in London, but here, I'm not. I mean, I know people here, but either people don't call me or don't return my calls. I'm starting to take it personally. I know everyone has busy lives, but we always did. I guess I'm just whiny.

AND the cats pissed in the chair. I don't know which one is doing it, but anytime there is, gee, ANYTHING on the floor, it gets coated in piss. I'm seriously contemplating chucking them both out. It's so frustrating. I put something down and bam, the house reeks of ammonia and my clothes/bag/fill in the blank with something i USE is ruined.

As I'm sure this is riveting for anyone who bothers to read this, I will stop cause I feel worse whining about it in cyberspace.

I'm alive, kinda sorta

I'm here, really I am. I don't do a whole lot other than work, but I'm here. People at work suck. A lot. They apparently think I'm magical and can extend the hours in the day in order to complete their completely insane 'projects'.

We haven't done laundry in way too long and the fact that we haven't run out yet is disturbing. I moved things around in our giant closet to make room for our huge pile of clothes. It's sad when I have to clean the house to make room to actually be able to even sort the clothes. I'm thinking I might be sad and pathetic and see if I can take a truckload over to my parents house. They have 2 sets of washers and dryers. We just have way too much stuff for this apartment. It was full with my stuff, and now with Eric's it's worse. Really, I'm a huge packrat and I seriously need to take a few days and just go through everything.

Eric's working tonight until, well, now, but he's not home yet. I thought I would enjoy having time to myself to just... be, I guess, without someone else in the house. Um, NO. It made me clean up, which was good, but I really just want him to be home. And I really really want a magic fairy to come and clean and organize my apartment. A lot. OOh and a job that actually requires me to do something I like...or at least am remotely qualified for...

Alrighty, time to stop wallowing:) Later taters.

Shh...

I'm at work... Don't tell.

Ok, so I've been through my wedding pics, which are...interesting at times, given A-bomb ran around with my camera most of the night. Some are rather good though. The best though was that I taught him how to use the video function on the camera... Which he took with him... to the men's locker room...during the highly disruptive Tri-Hi. And it's all on video...with sound. IT ROCKS. Hooray for little people! I went through all the pics in order to fix the direction and whatnot, but I still need to run them through the photoshoppy deal to fix some lighting issues and red-eye. I'll try and have them up either this weekend or early next week. The videos are the best though. There were 23!!! I don't know how to post those though... Anyone have any ideas? Let me know, cause there are definitely some good ones:) One of my favourites is C spinning in her fairy princess dress on the dancefloor. It's completely dark, but you get these awesome flashes from whenever someone took a picture. It's pretty snazzy. Or at least I got a kick out of it. The ones from the men's locker room are pretty funny... All the guys practicing for the Sweetheart song, and bomber singing along. It's adorable.

Anywho, I had an amazing weekend. The Cubs game on Friday rocked, seeing everyone again is always the best thing EVER. So good to see M&L before they run away to Europe! *sighs* Happy times...

Back to work... bah.

525,600 Minutes

Last night was RENT! It was an amazing show and my sister got us fabulous seats. We were on the left section of seats, 2 in, 6th row. It was a small theatre anyway, so we were super close. They gave me a half day at work, so I came home, had a little snack, a little nap, and then we headed to Chicago. Chicago is not so much close when you move away from Illinois. Try 3 and a half hours. Ew. However, Molly (my snazzy vee-hickle) took us through Milwaukee, so although we hit some traffic, we avoided stopping completely from the stupid ass construction on 90, nor did we have to pay a single toll. Which anyone who has driven 90 through that area knows it's like $12.00 in tolls. And it SUCKS. The parking garage was kitty-corner from the theatre and our restaurant was right next door. So we had a beautiful fancy dinner, best halibut I've ever had, and we discovered some delicious new wines. Always nice to stray a bit and find something tasty. We headed over to the theatre, watched a fantastic performance, and headed home. I drove until Roscoe, and then Eric drove the rest of the way home so I could get a little more sleep. 5 hours of sleep and a crazy training day at work is not a happy combo, but I made thai tofu and noodles with peanut sauce, so all is right with the world. It's a gorgeous day, rocked the nooner at lunch, relaxin' with my Tivo, what more could I ask for?

quietly...

It's amazing how long things can stay quiet... I woke up, called my mom, I'm sitting here on the computer, etc... didn't turn on the TV or any lights, or open the shades... Katy is still asleep on the bed, Nona has comandeered the couch, and Finnegan, I believe, is in his newest spot, the clean towels in my linen closet (third shelf). How he gets his large-ness up there, I don't even want to know...It's 3 o'clock on sunday and it's so very peaceful... Soon though, Katy will have to go outside, so I'll open the door and Nona will run behind the couch, I'll be done with putzing around online and get hungry, so Finny will emerge to investigate and I'll turn on the TV, and the quiet will be broken... It's like this every weekend, for a while at least, it's just lasted so much longer today...
